I talk a lot about skincare issues and while they may not seem linked to "fashion" per se, I think healthy skin is synonymous with good taste and often, one of the first things people will notice about you.
I learned something recently that shocked me because (1) of how obvious it is and how it made me feel silly for not having realized and (2) I am someone who is crazy about protecting my skin from the sun AND being window-seat obsessed. So here it is... you should always wear sunscreen on airplanes.
Yes, really, and yes, even if you're sitting in the aisle. Why? Because in air, we are flying much closer to the ozone layer and the ozone layer absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation. Ultraviolet radiation are those harmful UV rays, both UVA and UVB, which can cause skin damage and skin cancer (I previously wrote about harmful UV rays here).
Even with the window down, harmful rays can reach out, which is one reason why pilots are at higher risk for skin cancer.
Your skin can thank me later.
